2023 Lightning Lariat ER
Of all the technical challenges out there, this one is pretty basic, yet odd. I have a ‘23 Lariat and identified that the rear center armrest will not fully close.

If you push the top all the way in/flush with the seat back, it pops out about 1-1.5” out from the top (there is that little pull loop on top center). Mechanically, it does not appear wonky on the hinge or anything but there is a bit of oval surface stuffing inside the carpeted area at the top and I suppose I need to lower the rear latch and get up inside there to investigate to see if this is a DIY fix.

I would assume this is covered under warranty (worse case). Wondering if anyone out there has had the same issue…with possible findings/resolution?

I'm not sure if pics of my rear seat help at all for comparison? I don't see or feel any oval area in the top section...

I upgraded my rear seat to the lariat one and here's a picture while I was doing the work. The lower foam is what yours looks like. It's totally open where the armrest fits in, so if there is an obstruction it's coming from the upholstery and not the foam.
