Does anyone have any tips for removal of the tail gate emblem with the tailgate step? Couple videos online show the removal on tail gate without the step but with the step there isn't a lot of room to get to the clips on the emblem. Has anyone done this and care to share a few tips?

Sorry, I couldn't find any info 2021. Based on prior years, I would remove the step assembly first, then release the emblem from the rear. Reassemble in reverse order of disassembly lol. Good luck!

I just unbolted the inside panel on the back of the tailgate. The step didn’t have to come out. Super easy process, the exact opposite of the front in terms of difficulty haha

I replaced both front and rear emblems. The rear is easy if you have the tail gate step. Just open the tail gate and remove the 13 torx bolts that hold the large black plastic work center on. You will find the plastic bolts that hold the emblem on. Reverse for reassembly.

I did mine today.
Heat up the outside real good with a heat gun. There isn’t a lot of the sticky tape actually holding the emblem on, it’s more for insulating against vibration.
Anyway, heated it up pretty good from the outside, then took the flat edge of a pry bar and pushed on the plastic nipple on the left side of the emblem until it popped out of the bed. There were no nuts on the plastic nipples, for mine.
Then I closed the tailgate, wedged my fingers under the emblem and pulled it right off. Didn’t break the emblem at all. wiped the surface down with rubbing alcohol and pressed the new one into place.

The front emblem was a bitch. I suggest having the dealer install that one.
Also now the 360 camera isn’t lined up so I need to get it calibrated.

Going to do the same thing. Or get the blackout decals.

Yeah I did that but with my giant hands I wasn't able to get in there with the sleeves or the tailgate step on either side of it lol

You mean this nipple? You didn't have to pinch any of the clips?

Yes, that nipple.
I didn’t have to pinch any clips.
I pushed on that nipple until the clips next to it let go. That left a gap behind the emblem on one side, then I wedged my fingers behind it and pulled it off.

Some plastic trim removals tools may help, sorry I didn’t mention it before.
