I have a Platinum Powerboost with the tow package (not the Max Tow). It rides terribly. The side to side rocking motion on uneven surfaces or when coming out of a roundabout is enough to throw the passenger against the door and then against the center console. There isn't any shimmy or irregular rocking or rolling when going straight on a smooth surface.

This isn't my first truck, I had a Chevy that was very comfortable, so it's not just a case of "well it's a truck what did you expect". I just returned from a 1200 mile trip and my wife complained every time she was tossed around and she was right.

Do you other people with the same setup have the same experience? I'm wondering if there's something missing from my truck but I don't know what would keep it more level. Is that what the anti-sway bar does? I'm going to take it to a dealer and ask them to look for anything that could explain it but I would like to appear knowledgeable when I do.

Thanks

I drove few F150 and the ride quality is nowhere near my ram1500 , not even close, this is concern for me getting the truck that I ordered, it’s a lariat crew cab standard no towing package with a v8 I hope will ride good.

Best guess is you either have a missing, or poorly installed sway bar, and/or bad shocks/struts.

If you press down hard on each corner of the truck, it should go down, come back up and stop. If it bounced a couple of times, or many times you have a bad shock. The springs hold the truck up and support it, but the shocks are what dampen/stop the motion of the springs, Defiantly worth having the dealer take a look at it.

I have a Lariat, Super Crew, 4x4, Max Tow, 6.5' bed. and the truck rides great (non-hybrid)...I take mine through roundabouts like a sports car.

FX4? The FX4 shocks will have a bit more bounce to them. Mine is FX4 and entering a parking lot off camber can bounce me around a bit, but (and I know you said not to say this) it’s what I expect from a truck. And by that I mean, my buddy’s Silverado feels the same, so it’s not excessive like yours seems to be

Thanks everyone. I'll be going to a dealer next week and I'll post whatever they tell me. It doesn't seem that the factory could leave the sway bar off, but I've been surprised by a lot of things from Ford since ordering this truck back in February.

Might be comparing apples to oranges as I don't know the generations of the F150's too well, but my test ride for motor performance was in a 2019 STX with the tow package and I'd say ride was comparable to my 2019 Ram Bighorn.

Yep, the tire pressure is good, it doesn't ride harsh. It's the body roll that is hard to live with.

I've got a Lariat PB 5.5' without the max tow package. Mine started off smooth but now it rides terribly. Road force balanced 2 different sets of tires now including stock Hankooks and a new set of blizzaks. Even replaced 1 tire the dealship told me was defective but the ride quality is still very poor. Just got the truck back again from the dealership and was told they couldn't determine the cause and that their vibration detection machine didn't pickup anything out of normal tolerances. Not sure what to do from here.

Any news or updates on this?
