If these are going to be the first big infotainment screens for you, I'm going to give you my experience with them. I've had 6, 8 and now on my 2nd 12" screen. Never had screen protectors on any of them. I wiped them off with a dry microfiber and they looked brand new the day I got rid of the vehicle. Now I'm typing this on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 that I have had for 2+ years with no screen protector.
Anyway, if you sleep better with one, then get one. But, you really don't need one...
That's exactly what I tell my iPad customers.

Im waiting until I see a super overpriced one that I know will at least be decent.... and judging by the time its taking my truck to get here I have a lot of time :)
People say ours is overpriced but I think it's worth its value and more.
Hopefully your truck made it there!

I agree with another poster, I don't think it is necessary. I did put one on my Nitendo Switch for my daughter. My truck won't be dropped and I won't have my keys scratching against it.
How are the piano black pillars holding up against scratches and swirl marks? We have something designed for those as well.
