Driving around upstate NY and tried the (not-so-new-but-newly-installed) DCFC operated by AppleGreen
They are installed this year of 2024 as part of the renovation of all rest stop on I-90
(manufactured in 2021 )
Initially I didn't plan to try those as they are stupidly expensive. (0.64$/kwh)
However, they are so fast, and instantly hit 504Amp at 48% SoC
During the 10-min boost period, it delivers about 29kwh, about 23% SoC
I usually charge at Tesla Supercharger and EA (operated by EvolveNY), and most of the EA station are ABB units
Most of the time they are only able to output 430-450Amp when started at similar SoC
For those of you do roadtrips and need fast charging, you could start to pay attention on the DCFC brand, it may surprise you sometimes.
---------
Where did I get those info?
you will need OBD-II adapter, preferably obdlink mx+
The app is called "Car Scanner app", its available on both android and iOS
