So he calls me. “J.C.” he says, “That LT is wicked”… “Wicked fast”. “What do you think (as in me!)”. “First class leg space in coach!”

“Your boys will love it!”,

“Less gas more filling”.

“It’s the future and I’ve access to Superchargers Stations now!”.

Since he’s a coach and drives miles…this is huge for his road travel.

I want a commission!!!

No way, if he drives miles, hwy miles, no way! I love my lighting absolutely love it but 80% is city so it's perfect. But if I did more than half on the expressway, I would hate it. And if he wants it because of the off the line power he'll get mad at having to charge it constantly.
It's a great solid truck that drives better than anything I've driven, but you can't be a lead foot and do a lot of hwy miles.

Highway miles are fine as long as you aren't doing more than a couple hundred miles per day, which most of us don't. I regularly drive a 200-mile trip on the highway in the winter with an ER and absolutely love it. In the summer, I get to drive faster.

Just like the answer to the old question "Boxers or Briefs" ... "Depends" LOL.

If there are chargers close by (and reasonably priced) and he can deal with the time overhead of charging then "sure", if not then "kid, maybe it's not your night" (with apologies to Marlon Brando).

I disagree with this opinion. If you're starting at home with a full charge and add in a daily fast charge to get you an extra 50 miles back home you've stopped for as long as you'd stop for gas and pay about 1/4 in fuel. If there's a reliable charger on the routes, I wouldn't even think twice about this arrangement. (a lot of generalizing of variables in here but I'm safe on averages I thnk)

If you need to put on 300 miles a day in northern Montana you probably want to disregard what I'm saying.

People who "put on miles" are like the diesel VW buyers of old and BEVs are the new VW diesels for regional drivers. In fact, you're saving quite a bit more money.

@Jseis the real answer is the majority of people in your sons situation will be so happy and never look back. Some exceptions exist but we'd need more info. The most common things are winter (will drop ERs down to about 220 miles of range, ymmv) and towing complications.

Why would anyone think with access to the supercharger network now that highway miles would not be fine. Highway and towing, sure, but just highway… why are you all trying to make record time on every trip. Just relax, fold down the centre console and watch an episode of your favourite show on your iPad.

Nice! Yeah, @Ford Motor Company should really have a referral rewards program, that might help with getting these things off the lot.

I know I’ve sold at least 3 people on one

Hilarious. Drives big ass truck in the city v. easy two-lane country road? I’ll always take the latter. You city dwellers are a Rivian market.
