I don't think my Lightning buying experience is timely at this point to your questions, but Sparky was technically a "buyback" from a very early purchaser back at the end of 2022. This is around when Ford was bungling their pre-order process when they underestimated initial demand and the person who ordered it originally got the dealer to take it back because they hadn't done their homework on an EV. My dealer lost money on the deal but we got it with about 1200 miles on it and many thousands saved because it was technically used.
Ford honored the original warranty and we still have that (no additional purchase). Put about 28K miles on it in a little less than two years, no major issues with anything build-related whether hardware or software (a minor physical ding to a rear tail light after our first vacation with it that was costly to replace, but that could happen to anyone), and we've even taken a 1500 mile road trip to FL and back last spring that was super awesome. My first truck and the coolest vehicle I've ever owned! Love it to pieces.
