Where do you go for service?

I'm brand new here (and new to posting in general), but have long been a Lightning fan - just haven't purchased yet; I'm getting close to 'pulling the trigger' on one ('24 E.R. Lariat), but am also getting cold feet for various reasons. 1 of those reasons is not know where to take the vehicle for service when it eventually has some kind of an issue. Is there anyone other than the dealer? I live in a small town & the least crooked dealer I can find is 3 hours away. Any suggestions?

Generally you will not have any non-warranty service for 3 years, unless you have an accident, except for rotating the tires, and a local tire shop won't be too expensive. You can buy from almost any dealer and many would send the truck to you, so your local dealer doesn't have any thing to do with where you buy it at.

For your local dealer, I recommend you grade the dealers (close to further away) based on how they advertise their EV's; how many they actually have on their lot; and then search social media, forums, etc. about that dealer looking for feedback. In your small town, watch for a Mach E or Lightning and talk to the owner, they will be glad to give you their opinion of their dealer

Finally I would drive to that dealer and talk with the service manager, not the salesman or sales manager, and get his opinion of the move to electric vehicles. Bear in mind perhaps 50% of the dealers view the Lightning as a terrible idea; and you don't want them involved with your truck.

Good Luck, it is the best pickup I have ever driven and/or owned over my 60 years of having them. My dealer is 80 miles away, bypassing at least 6 closer dealers.
