which EV trucks do you have reserved? If they were all available at the same time, which one would you choose and why? leaving hummer and the other oddballs out of it.

Only a Lightning reserved right now. I have been lusting after a Rivian since it was revealed, but it doesn't meet my needs right now.

Have you seen the Cybertruck? Even if I forced it to "grow on me" like the fanbois, Elon promises tech that he thinks will be ready in 2-4 years, and even that is Elon time.

I dropped my early Rivian reservation when I thought they were putting more effort into social media virtue signaling than getting a truck produced, as before that they seemed to convey discipline. Even so I think Lightning is a more useful tool than the R1T.

Exactly the same here. Plus the rivian is way more expensive than the XLT I'm looking at.

Rivian is like a toy. CT shape is hard to accept. Wish 2nd generation F150 would have 500miles range available. I would order a Pro and switch to a better quipped 2nd gen F150 in 3 years.

I have both lightning and cybertruck reserved. I would easily choose the cybertruck if they were available at the same time. its weird looking but spec wise, its hands down the better truck. I get the feeling my lightning reservation will come up YEARS before my cybertruck reso. Timing will decide for me.

Lightning is the truck I want—just cannot wait. But we have an R1S reserved “for my wife”.

Secretly I want that one too ?

Similar for me. I'm expecting the resale to be quite good because demand is going to be much higher than supply for a while, so I'll drive the Lightning Pro for a while and then maybe upgrade to a longer-range truck.

I think the Lightning beats the Cybertruck on the low end because the Lighting Pro SR is dual motor and has the tax credit, but I agree the Cybertruck looks pretty good, spec-wise, once you get into the other trim levels.

For now, it's Lightning only for me. The CT is a non-starter, I just can't get past the looks. And the R1T is too small. In actuality, it would probably be fine for me but I've grown accustomed to the space of a full size truck and wouldn't want to go down to a compact size truck.

Exactly my thoughts !

A used Pro would fetch a lot of resale money for a couple of years.

If the first year model Pro truck works well, I would upgrade to a higher trim..

I have an early Lightning reservation and a very late Cybertruck reservation.

I'm seriously considering a Rivian. If I reserve one (which is $1000) I'm pretty much guaranteed to buy it. Rivian's Denver service center is under construction right now and I'm happy with their plans for service calls. The biggest issues I've got with Rivian is:
1. small bed, and smaller overall, but it is larger than a Tacoma (except that bed)
2. questionable off road wheels and tires (34" tires on 20" wheels)
3. No Carplay (I want Waze and Gaia maps)

There are some other things but I can't think of them off the top of my head. The big plus is that the Rivian is an off road oriented vehicle, the Lightning is not. I like to off road quite a bit. The Rivian is also VERY price competitive with the XLT+ and higher trims when you include the extended range battery. The Rivian is also MUCH better equipped IMO. I ran these numbers.

I didn't include Blue Cruise, which is another $1825. Rivian's Driver+ is included but there is supposed to be a subscription with it. I don't know what the cost of that is.

Planning on getting a Lightning Pro for now, drive it for 3-5 years and trade it in for something nicer. Hoping the Gen 2 Lightning has a Raptor trim level (3 motors, big battery, the works)

CT reservation is there if the "stars align" kinda situation. If they can hit all the performance metrics on the trimotor for that price and get a tax credit again it would be a good value
