So I spoke with my dealership about swapping out the factory tires for Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus. He basically said the factory tires are mine to do what I want with, but he'd be happy to help me find tires when the truck arrives. I was sorta hoping to get a credit for the takeoffs towards the Pirelli tires, but I guess that's a dealer specific situation.

I actually just emailed Chapman about if they do that as well. Hoping it is something they do there instead of having to schedule an appointment somewhere else.

Interested in what they say. I am expecting to have to wait til I get back to JAX with 1k miles and put them on craigslist for $400.

I agree, CL is prob your best bet as unless sales was doing a wheel/tire second sticker deal theyā€™ll probably just refer you to service who from my experience isnā€™t best to ask what tire will fit your needs. A good off road shop would be good place to stop and may even take yours on a trade, esp if they still got the ā€œnubsā€ on them to show how new they are

Every dealer is different when it comes to this. I bet you can make more money selling yourself over what the dealer will give you. With the shortage of tires prices are up.

I was lucky, my dealer gave me $466 for the Wrangler Territory AT's that came on mine and I used that towards a new set of Wildpeak AT3W's from their Quicklane store. They can't sell the take offs as new, but will use them to put them on a trade that may need tires before putting on the used lot.

I got a $1000 credit for my tires but I also bought and had my new tires installed by the dealer before taking delivery.

They were going to put the stock tires on a dealer trade vehicle.

Sounds like dealer specific. Mine traded my Hankooks for the BFG AT KO2's. Even trade. I assume they will use them on another truck on the lot that needs them. I negotiated that with my purchase. They even let me drive the truck for 3 days while we waited on the tires. Dealership is 50 ish miles away!

That's awesome. Maybe I can work something out when the truck arrives from the factory and I'm finalizing the deal.

Chapman confirmed they do not give a credit for the stock tires as they are considered "used" upon arrival.

With the rubber shortage and winter around the corner, now is a good time to sell them private party. Iā€™ve seen several sets go for $500 +.

Not sure about this one. You may have ā€˜negotiatedā€™ this into your deal, but make no mistake, you paid for them somewhere.
