Debating Ceramic Coating

I clay bar my car a couple of times a year, and use Zaino products in between, I've never found it difficult, but maybe that's because I've build up so many layers of Zaino wax that the dirt comes off very easily.

Not sure about that but on a weekly basis I do hear..

I am the one if something can go wrong, It will.
I say it can be cheaper in the long run to leave things to the professionals..
My paint might get messed up but it won't be me that does it..

I feel the same way about electricians and plumbers. As an engineer, I know that I can do much of what they do but am humble enough to know to defer all but the most basic plumbing and electrical work to the experienced professionals. I’ve always had great respect for the trades.

WRT Detailing, I find it interesting and have been making it a hobby.

I recently purchased a new Corvette C8 and took it to the best detailer in town to do paint correction and ceramic coating. I wouldn’t have taken it to anyone else, even if it was free.

For my 2021 F150 Platinum I just bought, I’m having the dealership do it. I negotiated it for free in the purchase and I’m not concerned with it being done THE BEST like I was with my C8. It’s a truck...

I'd recommend a hybrid ceramic wax. I follow Project Farm on youtube and the guy is very unbiased with is "real world" testing.

Surprisingly, I've had great luck with TurtleWax Hybrid Solutions and you can't beat the price.

I used the Maguire's on both my old car and my wife's car. It worked very well and created a really nice shine which lasted much longer than a wax. It just doesn't last nearly as long (~3 months) as a true ceramic coating (2+ years).

I've talked to a guy that has a place in Arlington that does a 2 yr and a 9 yr 2 coats ceramic..
The 9 yr ceramic is about $2000..
2 yr is $1400..

Once my bed cover comes in and its installed I believe I'm going to use them..
Saw some reviews and pics of some cars they had done..
Awesome results..
Wheels are another $150..

Yes,
I think so..
If I'm going that far I may as well go all the way..
I had the best ceramic tint available done to all the windows but the windshield..
I've now decided to get it done in the next week or so..
So that will cover the interior and exterior..
Except the seats ,I'll wind up doing them as well..
Just have to wait on the (ARE) Bed cover to come in..
Ordered it but they haven't shipped any out yet..
Not sure it's even been released for production..
