Anybody find a phone holder that can mount on the dash by the driver? ProClip is my GO TO for phone holders, but nothing out yet for our Lightnings. I like my phone up high by the steering wheel so I can see it while driving (less distractions since I'm still looking at the road)

What do you need to see on your phone that won't transfer via carplay or AA?

I don't want to look down at my screen while driving if my phone goes off. I want it up in front of me. Less distractions (if you can call it that being i'm glancing at a phone while driving) then looking down at the screen.

The idea is that you'd look at the large infotainment screen instead of your phone screen if you're using AA or CarPlay.

Otherwise I'd pick up something from Ram Mount. If they don't have something specific for the dash, you could use a suction cup and a ball mount with an x-grip to stick it to the side window or windshield.

Im not a fan of apple car play honestly. I like the built in GPS. It's easier to work with, less "crap" going on

I installed the Course Motorsports phone holder and love it. They have a ball mount that utilizes a factory dash screw as a mount point; they make tons of different accessories for the ball mount, but I went with the Apple MagSafe charger for mine and hid the cable behind the dash (I used a *flat* 180 degree USB C cable to keep the cable tucked up and out of the way: video attached). I also ordered the regular non-charging MagSafe mount, because I wasn't sure if I'd like the charging one. So far I love the charging one, and haven't even thought about replacing it with the regular MagSafe one.

Here's a video of the installation (I'm not crazy about mounts they use in the video that require metal pads be stuck to the phone because they interfere with wireless charging, hence the MagSafe solution I chose; however, they have countless accessories/mounts that attach to the ball):

I've also included a link to the 180 degree USB C cable I used for those interested in doing the same thing (not a referral link):

Finally, a video of my setup below:

I 100% agree. Apple CarPlay is way too busy and "punchy" of a display. I may end up turning it off if the native navigation works well.

Builtright has mounts for anything RAM onto the dashboard. Personally I really like CarPlay. My main gripe is that the Ford system only supports one phone connection at a time. My 2021 Silverado 1500 diesel supports my work iphone on CarPlay, my personal iPhone on Bluetooth, and playing podcasts off my iPad with simultaneous connections.
