I picked up my ER Lariat about 2 weeks ago and finally got to test out Blue Cruise on a trip over the weekend. Overall it was an interesting experience and think with some software updates it can be great. One thing I noticed, and I would like to know if others experience this, is that it is very swervy (if that's a word.) I think it is when one of the lane lines is broken. It was very much like piloting a boat at low speed were its a constant correction. If it isn't just mine, I think that it is something Ford needs to address in a software update and seems like it should be fairly simple.

when you say swervy are you referring to what most call ping ponging? i get that occasionally, Iā€™m generally using blue cruise on 30 mile drives now.

my biggest quip. I feel it keeps me a little too far right in the lane I feel a little tight when passing both cars & trucks.

I havenā€™t seen any of this using blue cruise, briefly on the F150, and more so on the Mach-E. I feel itā€™s fairly equivalent to Tesla auto pilot.

Iā€™m a couple weeks away from 1,000 mile road trip on I95 from NJ to FL and I expect that as a mapped road it will be quite good.

Same here. It can be a little unsettling, honestly. It's definitely favoring the right, because the distance to the LHS and RHS lines are very different when looking in the mirrors, and I'm obviously in the center of the lane in the driver's position.

Has anyone contacted Ford or dealer about the pong or right side bias?

I wonder if it could be fixed with recalibration?

There is another longer post here about blue cruise, most mention ping pong, donā€™t think I saw mention of favoring right side. Made mention of that to salesman, and as expected doesnā€˜t know more than sales talk.

uncertain of best way to get this info up the food chain.

I drove mine 1,050 miles from Delray Beach to Virginia mostly on I-95 immediately after delivery, used BlueCruise extensively. Ping-ponged constantly. Now have 1,700 miles, still see the behavior.

My sample is very limited. Iā€™ll find out soon and report back.
