E-ZPASS NJ Green Pass (10% off, off-peak fare)

Has anybody applied for this? for cars and trucks there doesn’t appear to be an off peak price/fare difference so I assume it’s just 10% off the cost of the toll?

I am currently in the process of applying. Rather than going in person or mailing, I tried submitting via my online account. Doing the same in NY for their green discount programs.

I decided not to do this because the transponder is those larger, older styles and I felt the minimal savings (for me) was worth having a smaller transponder on my windshield.

how do you know? I thought they just added a credential to your account. NY and NJ the same?

The NY website said something about a new green colored tag and there was a picture of it being the old larger one.

I received word back from NJ and NY ezpass that I was approved for the discount programs and both would be sending new transponders.

Not sure if I'll end up keeping the NJ one as I just realized they charge $1 a month fee for having an account?!?

What?!?! that’s crazy! Where did you see this info? It only saves you 10% so I’ll have to spend at least $10 in tolls a month to make up for it. I guess that’s pretty easy to do with the price of tolls now adays.

Please keep us informed what the transponder looks like.

I didn’t and they charged me $1 last month. The nj tag is a standard looking small ezpass tag. The ny tag is a small green tag. let me know if you want to see pictures of them.
