Ya, I think I am same (spray in too, but others have that and are wrapping up)...HAD I KNOWN :-/
This is a decent deal on a crappy charger. IMO the best deal is to buy the Tesla mobile connector, whichever plug ends you want, and an 80amp tesla tap. The teslatap will open up Tesla destination chargers to you, the Tesla Mobile Connector has more plug end choices, and still comes with the same ends the Ford charger does, and the overall cost is equivalent to the normal price of the Ford charger.
What’s so crappy about the Ford plug? I’ll do most of my charging at home and use the truck for my local business. Is there a better way for me to go?
Their trucks probably can’t get out because ours are blocking them in lol.
How much did they quote you to install?
It’s not very heat tolerant and while the failure rate may not be all that high, it’s dependent on Ford to determine if it fails or not for a warranty replacement. When I took the one in that came with my MachE they said they couldn’t even test it because they didn’t even recognize the plug end (NEMA 14-50) so there wasn’t anything they could do. The service departments aren’t trained for this yet.
Same happened to me just today (sorry about the cross post to another build week, but relevance is applicable):I somehow reverted back to a status of Order Confirmed, but my Built date is still there
All in was $1,250…. No changes needed to my main panel and charger installed on same wall about 5’ away.
It just changed to 15% off but it’s right on the webpage…. accessories.ford.com
It is reliable, we've been writing [speculating] about this for several weeks having observed the production data since build week 7/31, a lot of hold ups and only recently the flood gate has opened to update to BUILT & SHIPPED. It is going to take time to get 19,921 trucks into buyers hands {build week 7/31 to 10/2}
