I always thought the draw was insignificant, but you guys got me curious. I went out to the truck, started it up, turned the lights off, and watched energy consumption.

After the initial startup surge, consumption dropped to 0.38 kW sitting in the garage with climate, heated seats, heated wheel, and lights off. I went into the menu and turned off PPO, and there was no noticeable change.

Data from the truck is not accurate down to the watt, so I can't say that it draws nothing. But the inverter draw sitting idle is insignificant.

Unless the OP wants to go into the fuse box and and start pulling fuses, he will have to deal with unneeded electrical loads in a truck with this many features. But with a base load of under 400 watts, there's not much to gain.

But - did I miss the answer? Is there a way to make it so that my Lightning's outlets are always on. I would want this for 2 reasons. I have cameras in the vehicle that I always want recording or at least the capability of recording if it see's motion. And secondly, a little mini fridge that I would love to just keep on low power all the time so I have cold drinks. The second is obviously not the most important. But, you get my point. I want to have the outlets always on and not have to remember to switch a button every time I use my vehicle and then turn it off.

In fact. I'll show you a few pics that will make my argument for always having a camera runnings. This is what I returned to after a concert here in Seattle.

This is not on the truck it is from an OBD reader. Many many posts on other threads about this.

What obd reader is this from. Is it a plug-in fob, Bluetooth to a phone?
