If the lightning stops production as previously announced and the T3 is delayed, will there be a year with no ford ev truck? Or will they extend lightning Production.

I also think they should keep making the edge. Everyone I know who had it has liked it. For that matter the fusion is such a good car too. I realize they bought a bunch of data which said get rid of cars, but couldnt they keep one? (other than mustang)

Based on the production & sales data I'm logging they have ~36,000 trucks spread around the nation and holding at the plant, if they are selling/leasing ~2500 a month that's enough standing inventory to cover 14+ months of demand assuming production stopped at this moment.

Hopefully they will continue building into early '25 and be able to move the remaining Lightning stock by the time T3 production begins its trickle in '26

Slow to a point, but the charge curve flatness is amazing and is class leading. So yes the Cyberdookie can charge higher for a period it drops off.

Even Out of Spec appreciates the steady charge rate. I love that I know on a road trip I will be fully topped off in around 40-45 minutes.

Even if the Lightning could handle an average of 200 kW charging, you are only shaving off 10 minutes. Unless I am a commercial driver going coast to coast, I could care less about a possible 10 minutes every three hours when I need to pee, get a drink, stretch, and see what trending in the reels. 🤫
I remember seeing a video showing the cyber truck at a high rate of charge at the beginning, but you’re right the curve essentially resulted in a 40 minute charge just like the Lightning.

Disappointing Ford is pulling back the reins.

IMO there is a window of opportunity to seize the truck EV market, and delaying both the T3, and plant construction, in the LONG TERM is not a good strategy. Even though in the short term it makes sense financially.

Just send my Tesla adapter please.

Aside, either we need better outreach and EV advocates, or we need to wait for the current generation to die off. I had a lengthy conversation with my ~70 year old uncle and the ignorance on display was mesmerizing. Granted it's new tech but even explaining the difference between a kW and a kWh was difficult for him to grasp. He was convinced you could not road trip with an EV because it takes 8 hours to charge.
This right here.

Although I have these conversations with 45 years old at least once a month. People are not convinced yet. They "heard" EVs are not good, no place to charge them, they start on fire, batteries only last 2 years, blah blah. Sigh.

Not really disappointing, since it was so predica

Ford has said T3 is an internal code name. It is not from my understanding going to be the actual name of the truck.
That's my understanding as well

That makes sense; To focus the design team on reliability. But for public use? Not sure if Ford has a Toyota kinda reputation yet. Who knows, with third party software and a new but well tested battery chemistry, T3 could go public.

I think a major problem Ford made for themselves is that a LOT of those are high trim, and pricey models. They're either going to have to incentivize the crap out of them or they're going to sit. Ford SHOULD have been putting out more Pros, and made the Pro ER a thing consumers can order, and they apparently should have done so about 14 months worth of production ago. People want the truck, but especially with today's rates and unstable job market, they won't commit to the price of the high trims.

Also, if ford could make a 2-door Pro level ER with a long bed, there's a whole new market of people that would consider it.

That would mean more expensive parts and services

After watching the video, I'm not sure if that's a good thing for Ford or not. Parts for this truck are stupid expensive as it is, especially with shit like the BLISS sensors being integrated into the taillights.

LOL @ people thinking 2026 is decades away. Deliveries in 2026 on a new platform truck sounds good to me. I’ll be ready to upgrade by then. For now I’m going on 2 problem-free years with my Lightning. 🤷🏻‍♂️
