Putco Illuminated Front Emblem Installed

Did the Putco logo this evening. Wanted to share:

Wasn't too difficult. Hardest part was getting the stiff/brittle body clips out of the corner lips inside frunk, and the fear when tugging the metal on plastic retaining clips when removing "grill".

Long story short: the Platinum Black on the grill is starting to chip and show through the chrome-ish plastic, so dealer took pics and is going to replace under warranty. I told them I'd like them to install the logo when swapping (still waiting on part), but I figured I'd get ahead on the wiring part and logo installation so they wouldn't need to bother with it.

Can share more pictures or guidance on an easier way to install if anyone's interested . I do like the look of the lighted logo, and it does come on with an animation out of the box - but we'll have to wait and see on water ingress.. Surprised this isn't a factory option or trim addition.

Still the plug and play fuse kit. There is a water proof connector on the emblem side that meets the receiving end connector that heads to the fuse side. Had to crimp and join to a ground ring , and heat shrink a snap-in connector to the fuse blade tap.

As far as radio, I'll need to test it out. I hardly use the radio and have a small antenna that seems to be less receptive than the factory one, so already a bit of interference before this project.

What fuse did you use?

Fuse 21 that was 10A Spare according to Ford.

All, can confirm radio pretty useless. Only getting one clear channel. Beforehand signal was already degraded by replacing antenna. Okay for me as I only use AAuto.

It does look great, really nice, but the radio interference seems like a real disincentive. Is there a specific frequency or band that is the problem?

For me it's pretty much every band and station. There are some other antennas around the front fender area where the wiring was ran, but those may be WiFi/Cellular pickups. Not sure if that or the fuse location is what could cause it. Weird issue but doesn't bother me much.

Still an issue for me.

I did mine a few months ago and love it. I also added a toggle switch in the frunk liner to manually turn it off as when I was camping with the truck on for Pro Power, it was lighting up the whole area (I have the Putco one which is super bright.)

The cool thing is my FM (and now AM) stations seem just fine...There's maybe 6 stations I ever listen too, and they all come in no problem. The local FM station is crystal clear, and ones from the mainland (I'm on an island) sound just fine...

I also added the rear red LED emblem too, which was super easy. That emblem buzzes though like an old neon sign, but only heard outside when standing at the tailgate...time will tell if it holds up.
