There is a monthly subscription you can sign up for. If you are charging more than one or two full charges in a month then it's probably worth it. The catch is, if you just plug in, Plug & Charge will not give you the subscription rates. So you need to activate the charger with the Tesla app **before** plugging in.You get a discount using Tesla App?
It is not necessary to disable Plug & Charge, in theory, if you activate the charger with the Tesla app first. But if anything goes wrong with the Tesla activation, P&C may take over and you might not get the subscription discount. I think this is the reason some say you should disable Plug & Charge. But many people charge regularly using the subscription without disabling P&C, just by always activating the charger with the Tesla app first.
