Is there any good reason why Ford did not add an auxiliary input on the sync 4 system. It would be nice to play some of my CDs in my old portable player. Can only do that in the Pacifica. It has an aux input.

You can also rip whatever cds to your phone and listen to them. Does the F-150 support USB stick playback? If so, rip them to a stick and play them.

USB inside console, in the back of the console and on the dash are “charge only”

Data ports are in the front of th console or lower center on bench seat trucks

I know right!!!

Total first world problems, but I am a little flustered that I can’t play true high resolution audio in my truck. Would have been a nice sound stage :(

Bought the DAC and can’t even use it in my truck, after I looked for the port.

What is it with Ford and them hating on the 12 volt outlets and line in analog audio ports?

I too am disappointed that I can no longer use my preferred DAC with this truck. However, I can still play high res audio through CarPlay fortunately.

Yes, I can put them on a stick but the time spent doing so is a drag when Ford could have added the Aux like Chrysler did.
Thanks for the comments and info on working and not working inputs on the truck. I guess it will be something to mess with when I find some time.

Would be cool if you guys could find some kind of DAC to HD-FM transmitter and then pick it up on the HD tuner in Sync4. At least that would cut out the middle man of ripping into compressed (but large for best quality) files or using a BT transmitter, which could be just basic SBC encoding.

I don't think that's true. I believe the max rate for CarPlay (including wireless) for now is 16-bit/44.1 kHz

I was not aware of that, but at least it’s still CD quality.

I gave it a try with an old and low Mb drive. It worked very well. Except I could not get a full CD on that old relic. So I got a big Gb drive and it has also worked very well. Maybe this Winter when I go inside to avoid the white crap I will find more time to rip more CDs.
