I learned from @RTanton that “the whites allow for more TiO2 pigment and are more stable with exposure to our strong UV”, we’re in California. I do know the star white is tri-coat (well that’s easy it’s in the name, stupid for me to state that 😂) and I believe that and the make up of the pigment contributes to price.
The main reason for me choosing it is my 2011 was a similar color (I think they called it platinum white way back then) and to this day looks amazing.
Agree, even 2012s around town still look great.

Cool ! Thanks.
It looks like the upper light bar is out, driver side, on the corner?
Or maybe the camera is just not picking it up ?
By sheer happenstance I looked at a video of my truck (Atlas Blue) on my garage video today. It appeared the same way. My suspicion is that it has to do with the LED lighting. Does some very odd things to pictures and videos.

On the topic of this thread, Star White was my second choice after the Atlas Blue. It is ALMOST to the point that I wish I had done it, but 1) the GF didn't like it much (yeah, I'm whipped) and 2) I like bright, obnoxious colors and the Atlas was as closed as I could get.)

You Star White guys have a great color there.

Maybe a dumb question, but what makes STAR WHITE METALLIC TRICOAT cost $795 more ?
Everyone seems to charge more for this color, I can't remember where but I think I saw one that was $1,300 for the color choice on a fairly normal car.

Does anyone have experience getting body/paint work done on a Star white truck?

I really like the star white look, but I have another car with a multicoat pearl white finish that is very tough for paint shops to replicate and exactly match the OEM paint job. It’s very very close but is noticeable in some lighting and angles. Part of the problem I’ve read up on seems to be the paint cures different on a plastic bumper vs a metallic door (which may not be an issue with the lightning)

All of our work trucks have been Oxford white and is pretty simple to get a perfect match finish since it’s plain white. I’m torn deciding because I don’t want to have issues down the road if body work is ever needed in the future
