The interior between the Denali and the RST is really night and day for what it’s worth. I drove an RST earlier on and although I really wanted the range bump, I could not work with that interior. I’m not a huge midgate or sunroof person but that’s what it takes to get the bigger range…which is sort of funny in a way. My ideal spec would be the max range Denali with no midgate or sunroof but that is never going to be an available combo. You can get a Silverado without either but with the 20 pack battery instead of the 24 but when you want the max range pack it adds back the roof. Frustrating circle.

Agree the RST interior could be better. I was on the fence with it. However when I found my Sierra deal, it was a no brainer as it’s a much nicer place to be. Have to admit I’ve used the mid-gate more than I thought I would as a DIY’er, but I still prefer the closed cabin and lift up seats or the Ford. I line GM’s glass roof better though. Even in Texas no issues with the sun, and best part is there’s no reliability issues such as the ones with the panoramic Ford roofs. Both times I’ve had them in Ford products I stop using them due to concerns of defects.

Also…the Silverado is ugly. Sorry. It just is. The lightning looks so much better IMO.
And yeah, I use the fold up seats weekly. Greatly expands space.

I've had the mid-gate in an older Avalanche. I thought it was really cool but in reality, I never used it after the first time. It opened the truck up to wind and noise and made a longer trip with inclement weather untenable. A rack on the top works better for a kayak or canoe. It keeps the seats for additional passengers, dogs etc. Climate control is pretty much useless when the midgate is open. Keep the gate closed and the heat/cool stays in the cab and keeps the wind, rain, sleet and snow, out.

The only advantage of RST is the range if you need it, but it comes at a cost ($s, weight, efficiency etc.)

hahah ok. Fair. It’s just…yucky? Looks like a wagon and less like a truck. But I do love that there are so many EV truck options. All the big truck companies are covered now which was not even a remote possibility a decade ago…

ultimately I got the Platinum for 24k (with 0% financing)less than what I could get a similarly equipped Silverado EV for so they are not even comparable cause the price is so different.

This is the right answer for me too. I was seriously considering a Denali but the compromises and price differential between getting a Denali and Platinum put the Lightning ahead by an enormous margin. I went in thinking range was the most important thing but when you start nit picking features and are ready to put that money down, you start seeing things differently. I asked myself when would I ever need that range, probably hardly ever. If I towed long distances, does getting an extra 50miles of range change things. NO it doesn't, so I would have gone with an ICE or hybrid if that were the case. Instead of thinking "but what if need that range some day" I realized I hardly ever travel long distances, so should having to make a couple of extra charge stops maybe once in a blue moon really influence my purchase for all the other things I have to give up and pay way more on top of it. I am very happy I went with the Lightning and I've never had any range issues with my use.

My kayak is longer than hers and I have no issues throwing it in the back. I don't even have one of those ball hitch extenders. Just strap it in. I did the same with my old Gladiator as well. Mine is a Hobie though so I'm able to kind of utilize the pedal drive hole - which for anyone out there, don't strap it down hard via this hole as you can damage your kayak.
