  1. Unofficial Aftermarket Wheel Thread

How do you determine the weight rating of the aftermarket wheels? With a rear axle rating of almost 10,000 pounds, do the wheels have to be capable of 5000 pounds each? I thought I found wheels on Ford Parts but note came back that they’re not rated for Lightning.
  2. Winter battery temperature management

I plugged the FCSP in to my truck at various amperages set with the charge station section of the Ford Pass app. To measure current I had to remove the bezel and front cover. While charging, I used the amperage slider to select each setting. At 80 I measured 78, at 64 I measured 64 and at 48, I...
  3. Winter battery temperature management

I would rather have the battery discharge down to 20% then charge weekly to 90%. Keeping the charge rate low should avoid having the hvb sit at 90% for days.
  4. Winter battery temperature management

if you don’t want to charge to maybe 90% every night during cold winter weather, which trickle charge method would you go with: mobile charger on 110v line or FCSP set to 6 amps? In every individual’s case there are physical pros and cons but just consider the HVB.
  5. Home Charging Speeds

I now charge with FCSP when temps are below mid 70’s. I can set max amps at 80 but past measurements show around 77-78 amps. If I have to charge during the day I’ll drop max to 60. No cycling then but I haven’t measured actual amps (too lazy to back out 9 machine bolts in charger case). The...
  6. FCSP current limiting via FordPass app, new feature?

Maybe I’m remembering incorrectly and this was always available but either way it's a very nice feature to have. Sorry. I assumed you made a discovery. My apps have been connected since I got the charger one week after I got my truck in June.
  7. FCSP current limiting via FordPass app, new feature?

After you link the Charge Station Pro app to the Ford Pass app, you can connect to the Charge Station Pro through your account in the Ford Pass app to set charge amps.
  8. The future of rv/ev towing electric trailer

It would be great if the trailer batteries could charge from 30 amp bed plug while charging the Lightning. PERV? Maybe not that acronym.
  9. The Private Motor Vehicle Market During The Next 10 Years Should Be Interesting

yes, but the reach should exceed the grasp.
  10. The Private Motor Vehicle Market During The Next 10 Years Should Be Interesting

Many hard questions that can’t be answered now. But without targets and deadlines, nothing gets accomplished.
  11. Efficiency at 70 vs. 75 vs. 80 on highway?

Aerodynamic drag (resistance to flow or particle movement) is proportional to velocity squared. @70 say R=1 @75 R=(75/70)^2 times R @70 = 1.15 R or 15%more drag @80 R=(80/70)^2 times R@70 = 1.31R or 31%more drag Another way to look at it is energy required to go distance D @70 say D=1 @75...
  12. Charging: DC Fast Charger won't go beyond 90%

Connect Charge Pro app to Ford Pass. You can set charge rate and max with them. I use 90% but will try 95% next time. I haven't used the one time max in the Ford vehicle settings charge screen yet. Cool temps last night allowed 80 amp charge rate with no amber reduction light.
  13. DC Charge Station Conversations thread...

Porsche people are pretty car savvy. Had similar situation with a Panamera Turbo S. Guy says “I want one of those” while I was at an EA charger.
  14. How is BlueCruise for you?

Although I like having the active features, Blue Cruise is just a gimmick as far as I’m concerned. How tough is it to drive at 70-75 on interstates? If there is heavy traffic I’m paying attention anyhow.
  15. PPF or ceramic coat in the Bay Area?

GTechniq only lists ProTek Shine Studio in Hayward as accredited detailer for the ceramic coating In Bay Area
  16. Tesla Semi updated specs

If their 300 miles of capacity is like mine, they’ll get 240 miles with no load. maybe 120 miles w a load.
  17. Disable beeping when opening frunk

    Same with tailgate.
