Got in the truck last night to pull it into the garage for my wife. With a 55% charge the truck is reading 118 miles.....WHAT!?!?!?!?!....Oh, she has the heat set to 80 degrees, fan on 4, seat set to 3 and steering wheel heat on....mind you it was only 40 degrees out...she'll have the range at...
After watching the clip and understanding the "problem" further....I feel half bad signing up for the replacement. Clearly A2Z takes their responsibility as a safe producer seriously...the V1 under "normal" conditions can be expected to provide zero issues...so do you reward a company like A2Z...
Also received the email...in the email it mentions A2Z providing "Tesla with multiple internal and external testing and reports"....so will the new adapter eventually be approved for use by Tesla? It makes me think there was a hang up with the old one. A2Z wants ALL their adapters approved for...
It would also be a challenge in rural states. I have a Ford dealership in my hometown that sells EV's...the next closest one that sells EV's is 142 miles followed by 390 miles.
Sorry to hear about your negative and seemingly never ending issues.
I would commit to memory the following article and quote it to every single Ford employee I spoke with...
Absolutely love Blue Cruise when I use it...would never pay asking price. I like my idea of paying by the mile. I'll gladly pay $2.50 every 100 miles of use.
Not sure what BC I have on the truck (haven't checked), but it has been pretty amazing for the stretch of I-90 in Montana I drive. With that being said...there is no way I will pay the subscription price for BC. I would be more than happy to pay $5 every 200 miles (so about $10 one way).
Holla atcha boi! Got it last night! SOC now on dash! My life is complete!
After not having the SOC for last 6 months....I've realized the SOC will not change how I drive, where I drive or when I charge....almost like the gauge without the SOC was good enough...
I get enough "karaoke" as I drive down the road listening to the music my wife and kids pick out...the last thing I want is Ford sanctioned karaoke as I sit and charge.
I have absolutely loved the Lightning...but...you must look at your use scenario and location. Purchased vehicle in March. I live in Montana where DCFCs can be few and far between. Interstate winter range loss and headwind reduction are real (in 20 degree weather with head wind, driving 68 mph...
I still don't have the SOC %....purchased the truck in March (2023 Lariat)...it's annoying, but as many others have said, you still have the gauge. OP's post is more about signs and symptoms of an incompetent manufacturer. I won't take lack of % as the smoking gun, but get enough and you start...
Purchased my truck in March. Previously to purchasing the truck I saw one Lightning in my hometown....in the last two months I have see 5 additional Lightnings consistently driving around...I have also had a lot more people recognize and then ask questions about the vehicle. My informative pitch...
I have no concerns about Ford's long term commitment to EV's....so long as Farley is CEO. Ford delaying new releases is a reaction to market forces and engineering. The last 5 years investment in batteries has increased massively (not just car companies but also other "green" energy companies)...
Have solar on the house and 1:1 net metering...only fee I have to pay is $4.20 each month for still being grid tied. Now the initial solar investment was not cheap...but at the "rate" the utility company in Montana is going...they'll be "paid off" in 6 or 7 years.
Went over three mountain passes this last weekend. Set blue cruise at 75 mph and massively outperformed ABRP based upon my conservative parameters. One section of the trip I went way over expected usage but I was driving head on into 35 mph winds with 40-50mph gusts.
About a month ago took the...
I have found ABRP does a good job predicting SOC loss due to elevation. It's the wind (unpaid version) that is left out. For this reason I set my 65mph rate at 1.9 kwh/m and SOH at 95% (to be conservative...and it is way too conservative).
