Now your talking sense and we can not have that. Realistically I could just get rid of my Explorer and drive our 62 C10. Explorer is only on its third tank of fuel since we got our MachE 11 months ago and it only gets 18mpg..
Before today I was not to worried about getting my Lightning as I...
Obviously Ford wants a higher take rate on SR batteries as they take 30% fewer pouches and has priced accordingly. For ever 3 ER trucks they can make 4 SR trucks so the 3 ER trucks buyers are footing the bill for that SR rig that does not get built. Makes financial sense to me. Either way Ford...
Look at the F stock go.. Sweet.
150k with 200k reservations, I bet Ford is doing their best to build all that will convert first year. Maybe I will get my Pro.
? Wondering why we waiting on a Pro is hard to do? My guess is odds of getting a $43k Pro before any $70k cyber truck is pretty high. 2023 is just round the corner.
ER is over rated. In 11 months my SR MachE has never made me wish I had an ER battery. Charging away from home on the rare days we drive over 200 miles is pretty much never an issue. I do stop at RaceTrac on occasion to get a free coffee or use my points to get ice cream for the little one...
I had to add the 9.6kw to mine in case I need to charge our MachE during a hurricane outage.
I imagine Ford will be caught flat footed on Pro orders much like they were on Maverick Hybrids.
Ehh, let us see the miles per KW before we say that. 2.5/kw around town would be easy. Highway may be harder. I bet the rating will be 210ish. Just like a SR AWD MachE.
Heck. They may shut off one of the motors above a certain speed. Maybe they figured out to lower motor demand and hp output...
I had this same thought with our MachE. I did get to drive a maniquin 2 days before we got ours and it completely put those fears to rest. As far as drive dynamics EVs are unmatched IMO. Stomping on the go pedal and zoom, all is right with the world.
Tend to be in your camp here. BEV drive lines do not have nearly the amount of recoverable waste as ICE. A lot of this seems to be hazard to navigation and unsafe (following distance) driving practice.
Well I would be shocked if you could get over 3m/Kw over 70mph.
Looking at 2.4miles/kw Electrify Americas current rate is $.41/kw. So 100 miles of road trip miles would be roughly $17 at that rate.
Now if your fleet you will most likely be charging on off hours at the garage and that would be...
I would price out selling the current sled now on the high and than pound Autotrader for a Maverick Hybrid at MSRP. Save myself a few years of tuition costs and lower fueling to boot. Take the savings and invest in a 80/20 moderate/high risk portfolio.
My guess would be they get to someplace in the 20s by End of run in December depending on batteries. I imagine it is a happy time to be a battery producer. Booming business.
Would be nice if they just made the proper power dongle for the mobile charger and eliminate the yellow adapter all together. Hopefully that is in the works.
