When I stop at DC fast chargers, I frequently get a warning on the top of my screen that says using PPOB can extend my charging time, but I never turned PPOB on. When I go into PPOB, I have to push the power button to turn it off. What causes PPOB to automatically turn on? Is this a glitch?
It sure seems counter productive but I think it's because the customer for Ford isn't you and me, it's the dealer. The dealer eats the floor plan costs, not Ford, so Ford doesn't care that a model is sitting for 6 months on the lot.
If you can get employee pricing, I'd say buy now. Base Flash...
I was a little concerned about getting something that was on the lot for a year seeing as dealerships really don't care about keeping the truck plugged in or stored at a safe charge level (40% rather than 100%). But the dealerships are willing to move these trucks that have been sitting for a while.
Updated profile, this is a Flash (LR battery). Mad Ramps do plug into 4-pin, but trailer is not enabled and I got correct range estimates with it plugged in earlier and later in the trip. It was only after the 5 minute power down. Could it have defaulted to a trailer enabled on power up and I...
Does the truck normally recalculate incredibly pessimistic range estimates after power cycling (5 minutes off) at a lower state of charge?
I was getting 1.4 mi/kWh (carrying a big load, I'm ok with that efficiency), was around 46% SoC, guess-o-meter was saying somewhere around 70 miles and it...
You can get better deals without A Plan pricing, but you have to shop around and find a truck that's been on the lot for a while. Use cars.com to check how long they've been on the market. Dealers make monthly payments on these trucks, and they are incentivized to move them or they have to pay...
It's very good for TSLA shareholders because it's cheap to manufacture. Not so great for consumers because it's not servicable (or as reuseable at end of life), but it should drive the cost down hopefully benefiting everyone. Ford can't sustain their current design, but it does make for a great...
F-150 has a steel frame. It's very susceptible to rust and is what sends them to the crusher where I live. You won't see Cybertrucks going to the crusher from a rusted frame since it uses two aluminum castings joined together by a structural battery pack.
Are you sure Tesla has done nothing to...
Plan discounts themselves vary by region, dealership, even individual VIN since they are based on things like dealer holdback, advertising costs, and invoice dates. So you probably won't find a flat discount anywhere.
The $7000 A/Z bonus cash is program #90148 (at least for my region) if that...
800V architecture (faster charging, less heat loss, minimizes need for bigger battery)
400 mile range
NACS
Passthrough to bed or HVAC to bed
We'll get the first 3.
Cybertruck is a fad until they can get the price down, but even as a fad it's outselling Lightning. Think of Cybertruck as the Model X. It's an outrageous showcase of innovation but won't be a long term bread and butter product. They didn't get that until they got the Model Y out, and now it's...
I wanted to lease for 2 years because I know T3 is right around the corner, but after doing the math, the residual after a 2 year lease would be just about as much as I'm paying for for the truck brand new, so I would be overpaying for the lease. Ford is only passing along $3500 of the tax...

I wish I could get a Lightning with Tesla software. The weakest link in the Lightning is with charger routing. It sometimes enters into a panic mode thinking you can't reach any nearby chargers and then...
Story time and rant below.
I was a day 1 Cybertruck reservation holder. I'm also an all-in TSLA investor and have been for several years. I'm currently driving a 6 year old Model 3 which was paid in part from TSLA stock, and have a 18 year old Crown Vic that's still running strong. With close...
It's an employee discount plan offered by Ford. The employee (or retiree) generates a pin for you, and you supply that PIN to the dealer for the discount. The PIN is good for 1 year.
A Plan = Active employees and their family. The calculation is Invoice - Holdback - Advertising Fee + a $275...
Is that still the case? I know it used to be $75 for the longest time but I think that got changed recently (maybe around 2022?) because everyone around metro detroit is charging $150 for A/Z buyers.
Just posting this for others who are shopping around who have A/Z plan. Ford is offering a number of incentives now that we are in the last quarter. This isn't as slick as the left over 2023 stock deals where people were picking up Lariats for $45K, but it's an ok deal for something fresh off...
