When I use my fordpass app to show my trucks location, it always shows parked it my home driveway. Other features of the app work, but the location is wrong. Maybe I am expecting it to show the trucks location and not it's home location.
On my daily commute, I drive on a 1 mile section of road that runs beneath a beautiful canopy of old oak trees, home to squadrons of trained squirrel accorn wielding bombadeers. The acorns they drop from 20 ft are not hard enough to crack the windshield but do manage to dent the aluminum frunk...
Few options..
1. Piece of heavy duty black duct tape.. Not ideal, I know.
2. A thin small black coarse head screw, maybe a drywall screw or thinner - hand screw it in the corner opposite the hinge. It'll keep the flap shut without damage and when you need to use the pocket, just twist it out.
I noticed after a recent software update that a lot of chargers I use regularly are not showing up, and a lot more Ford dealers.
After drilling into menus on the NAV app, I saw that the default was set to "Ford network only". Unchecked that box and selected "roaming chargers" and now I see...
One additional thought, what happens if you are *actually* incapacitated/passed out during BC session? Does it go back to regular mode, or does it slow down and gently pull over and put the hazards on like Tesla?
I agree with OP - 5 seconds is too short.
BC does not account for peripheral vision, which is superior to detecting moving things - that tech is just not there yet.
They are really the only 2 options where I road-trip, so OK, "Dualopoly" :) If I ever receive my Ford NACS adapter, then I can look at Tesla prices (just one Magic-dock in my route) .
Either way, I know the F150 is not super efficient when it comes to MPG-E, but it still smarts when I can...
I think FORD did right by not pursuing the BEV Expedition. Could they have done it? Sure - look at the F150 Lightning - excellent job there - and they used it as a platform to collect valuable data for the T3.
If they electrified the Expedition the same way they did the F150, it would be...
How funny, I just went to use remote zone lighting from the app(SUPER USEFUL when in the forest) and it was not there. (And I just happened across this post a few hours later. )
Everyone has some feature that they find great - while maybe not used every day, it doesn't make the [deleted]...
I always charge at home, decent rates, something like $.17
I just literally did a trip and had to charge at Electrify America - $.56
Holy Hat! $56!! Sticker shock. WTF?
Talk about Monopoly.
That makes sense, but I see a problem with your plan.
Assuming you limit the current as described, "not enough power to the motor, but enough to keep the memory alive"; If whatever glitch occurred to trigger the cover to "randomly" open, the voltage would drop to 0 when it tried to power the...
I respect your enthusiasm to undertake this mod. I think you have a good idea.
You might end up solving your memory problem, and introduce a new problem by having the system only half powered.
I say give it a go! But you might end up down a rabbits hole by modifying something you don't have...
