Makes sense too of why I saw such slow speeds on the mobile charger at work because I had terrible efficiency that day from running around job sites with materials.
@RickLightning thats all makes great sense. I know a lot of things affect range but I was thinking due to consistent driving conditions and temps mine would be fairly simply. I failed to think about the hauling I’ve done periodically effecting those charging numbers. I’m typically seeing 3.0...
@Blochead21 & @Minh both are interesting data points. Blochead is charging at a faster rate but seeing the same range per hour. Ming’s charger is the same speed as mine and seeing faster rates on the Mach e. So far seems like speeds are slower on the lightning for some reason.
@Blochead21 how many miles per hour are you seeing when charging? This seems like the easiest and most practical way to measure. And do you have standard or extended battery?
I’m wondering what charging speeds everybody is getting at home and what charger you are using. I have a Grizzl-e charger on a 50a circuit that should be pulling 40a. The fastest I’ve seen it charge is 20mph. I was expecting 28mph. I have the standard range battery. I haven’t opened up the...
@swngdncr it would require at least an amplifier as it does not have speaker level inputs. I have seen people talk about disconnecting the center channel and being happy with the results. I have just adjusted the fade a bit to the rear for now and it’s ever so slightly better.
@GDN The factory amp does not need to stay with the fix86. I’m leaving it and adding a harness so I can hook it back up and bypass the aftermarket amp should I have any service issues and ford wants to blame the stereo. Just a little foresight on this “$110k” truck.
p.s. I didn’t pay that...
@GDN im using the JL fix86. It does that and more. The computer interface with crossovers and 10 band EQ is really cool on the fix86. I’ve used it in passed installs with OEM integration and it works flawlessly.

I went back and forth between stereo and surrounds several times. It’s not that. I could live with the sound stage in either setting. My issue is with the DSP. If we could control that it would be fine. There’s like a sweet spot in the volume where things sound decent (maybe 12 if I recall), but...
I picked up the truck yesterday. I hoped that the stereo would be passable for some time but as suspected it’s not loud enough and there is next to zero bass. I had to fold down the back seat to make sure the woofer was even on. I’m going to see if my local stereo shop has any speakers I like...
@hturnerfamily & @bmwhitetx, both valid points I overlooked. That does seem like a viable route, but I’d rather go with a traditional 12v install if possible. At this point I haven’t been able to find anything that specifically says the system cannot support it, so I’m thinking I give it a try...
I’ve seen a handful of people suggest tapping into the 120v system and it seems like an unecossary complication. Also I believe the average draw of the amp would be around 26a and I’m sure those outlets are fused as 20a at best. Peak draw from the amp would be significantly higher. My only real...
Has anybody done a full audio replacement? I tried to search and the most I could find was people adding a subwoofer. I’m picking up my truck on Saturday and want to pull out the 8 speaker B&O system and replace with component 6x9s up front, 6.5” two ways in the rear and two shallow mount 12”...
