Great comment, totally agree. I have friends with KO3s and Nitto Ridge Grapplers on their pavement princess trucks. Thatās an unnecessarily expensive commuter tireā¦but they look cool!
While I appreciate the F150 capability, the reality is that Iām usually commuting, moving college kids, making...
š¤·āāļø guess thatās the total time the truck was running for all the trips that made up the 104 miles? Wasnāt all one trip, i.e. not 55 mph for 100 miles straight which would come in a little under 2 hours.
Thought Iād share my experience with Hankookās new iON HTs for the EV tire curious.
[disclaimers: several months ago I swapped out the Lariatās OEM Hankook Dynapros on 20ā wheels with 18ā Tremor take-offs and the General Grabbers. So my recollection of driving on the Dynapros may have faded...
Located in Texas. The employee had to call the warehouse and have them shipped to store. This locationās computer didnāt even have a price entered for them yet!
Iām giving Hankook a second chance as I experienced the low tread life and uneven wear many have described with the OEM Dynapros.
How did this turn out for you?
Putting on the Tremor wheels with OEM 275/70R18 today. The General Grabbers have quite a bit of tread left on the tire, but in the future Iād also like to do larger tires & the Eibach shocks.
Agreed on all points. Was put in a brand new ICE (V6) F150 loaner while I had a few small things addressed by the dealer. That fake engine noise piped in thru the speakers ?
That week made me appreciate my Lightning even more.
Over Thanksgiving I ran up to the closest medium-sized townās only EA site and it was disappointing. Half the chargers didn't work and a line had formed for the other half. So Iāve been looking for alternatives, at least in this particular area. Closer to Dallas, my experience has been better...
Finding āhiddenā chargers at all these rural Ford dealerships was a revelation. But the same could be true beyond Fordā¦and as you pointed out, maybe better. I guess I felt most comfortable begging for power within the tribe - but Iāll start checking out the competitionās hidden chargers that...
It sure seemed sturdy, but two charging attempts made it just 10 minutes before ending with a ground fault charging error. And the third ended with a kid in a Tesla who unplugged my truck ?
I suppose installing your own Watzilla is faster (and cheaper!) than going thru Fordās EV certified dealer process. The Watzilla was experiencing a ground fault, so it was off to the next townās Ford dealership with a single Ford Pro charger. Another location reportedly had more chargers but the...
Are there more Ford dealerships with Level 2 chargers than we think?
Iāve had my Lightning for almost two months, and Iām loving it. But itās my first EV so Iām re-learning the logistics of local travel. The round trip to the in-laws for Thanksgiving and Christmas is just slightly outside the...
