  1. Ford Resumes Shipping NACS Charging Adapters (February 2025 batch)

Rolling back a few, 116,xxx received today. glad to see theyā€™ve finally figured out that whole mass production thing they happen to be famous for!
  2. Glare Free light operation

Ive definitely noticed this one. Kind of inconsistent though, maybe as youā€™ve noted depending on a particular truckā€™s lights. No IPMA update for me yet so weā€™ll see if it gets worse. The other one Iā€™ve noticed is that it likes to blind Semiā€™s coming the other direction on highways with a...
  3. After 10.1.1 update - Glare Free renamed to Auto High Beam?

Based on what Iā€™ve read, my understanding is that the lightning hardware is incapable of meeting the NHTSA requirements and will never be approved leaving Forscan as the only recourse. Are you suggesting thatā€™s not right and Ford could eventually get them approved?
  4. An Update on Your Forum Experience from Ford Motor Company

@Ford Motor Company , iā€˜ll go out on a limb and propose that you could pretty easily address the thing that a significant portion of the posts on this forum, maybe a majority, are about: OTA update schedule. You could be easily make this not mysterious by publishing a schedule of some...
  5. Driving in snow?

My 2 cents: 1-pedal drive / stock tires was excellent in heavy snow on a recent trip through western NY. I didn't get any sense that the regen had any ABS character to it, but in my mind if you're needing ABS in the snow, you've generally made an oops and started stopping too late for the...
  6. Ford Resumes Shipping NACS Charging Adapters (February 2025 batch)

Ford website today still says mine is coming in December 2024ā€¦
  7. NHTSA Recall - Loss of Steering from Front Control Arm Separation (Impacting certain 2023 to 2024 builds)

Mine is a 12/23 build, and yikes! Passenger side had maybe 10 ft-lbf on it, driver more like 30. Definitely donā€™t recommend relying on visual inspection!
  8. Poll 22 Lariat Software updates

Maybe, if Ford doesnā€™t have enough updates to go around, we could trade! Anyone interested in trading my karaoke for a BC1.4 update?
  9. F150 Lightning FORscan thread

I didnā€™t find anything in search or by a skim of this thread so apologies if itā€™s already been addressed but I havenā€™t found: My question is, is it possible to do a forscan mod that shows energy consumption as kwh/mi rather than mi/kwh?
  10. Why isn’t the Lightning getting more of the gas F150 market?

And, humans are terrible at long-term prediction. The reaction to not having a viable 1-ton truck today has basically nothing to do with the availability of such a thing a decade from now. For comparison, look at the technology and capability in an iPhone 6 vs. an iPhone 16.
  11. Why isn’t the Lightning getting more of the gas F150 market?

Fair point, and totally agree - words matter. ā€™There is no mandateā€™ isnā€™t quite fair as has been pointed out because itā€™s maybe splitting hairs given the various state regulations in play. However Iā€™d still argue that since the state rules phase in over the next decade functionally means there...
  12. Why isn’t the Lightning getting more of the gas F150 market?

I think itā€™s worth pointing out that, aside from California, there is no ā€œEV mandateā€. There are simply goals and fuel economy requirements that are not likely to be able to be met by ICE cars with 30% thermal efficiency. The whole idea of a federal EV mandate is misinformation.
  13. Why isn’t the Lightning getting more of the gas F150 market?

100% agree - the lightning is an excellent machine in its own right. Unfortunately, the cultural discourse today requires everyoneā€™s ā€œteamā€ to choose a ā€œsideā€ on every topic which ultimately clouds the transfer of any objective information. Anyone who Iā€™ve run into who is able to objectively...
  14. Would you give up your Frunk for more range?

No chance. Use the frunk constantly. 150-180 miles between charges in poor winter conditions is plenty far and longer than childrenā€™s patience and bladders can go anyway. 30+ mins at a stop with a family is like the default for a gas stop anyway.
  15. DIY MagSafe iPhone Charger Setup

Basically this stuff: https://a.co/d/ghqwUzx Iā€™m sure itā€™ll work with whatever your preferred adhesive is, but the body panel tape works at both freezing and hot temperatures. Also can usually be removed after several years without too much of a mess In my experience.
  16. 2024 Lightning Flash (new EV owner) 30 day review

This ^^^. I hadnā€™t really considered it previously, but there is a shocking amount of ā€˜wow the resale value of the EV is lower than MSRPā€™ whereas thats taken as a given for ICE cars since its been happening forever. Total double standard.
  17. Cold Cold Weather tips

Great note, i hadnā€™t even considered custom CarScanner cards. Iā€™ll definitely look into that. Not sure what route you take, but if you primarily do US 15, the Selinsgrove Supercharger is a game changer, and there is a new-ish station in Painted Post also. I think, if you can do superchargers...
  18. Cold Cold Weather tips

For what its worth, i just made a ~350 mi trip south starting from Buffalo yesterday and made a pre-conditioning observation: - Started the day @ 0F outside temp plugged into a destination charger with a departure time set. The truck had been @ 99% for several hours (but flipped to 100% after...
  19. Rattle hunt - drivers side door/window

Iā€™d suggest checking the triangular trim piece at the front of the window. I had this on the passenger side. Fix is to wrap edges with felt tape so that it doesnā€™t make a noise when it wiggles. See below video, i had success by only doing the trim edge felt taping, not all the steps but YMMV.
