After doing a rinse off at the self wash bays while running errands yesterday I did a 2 bucket Optimum No Rinse in my driveway. It was near freezing outside so I actually went and bought a Simoniz Microfibre wash mit built with a pole attachment. Worked pretty good. I used 2 microfibres to dry...
Obviously subjective but I have the Ford low profile hard cover that sits level with the top of the bed rails. Looks super clean and works great. After driving around and seeing lots of the covers that sit higher up- they all tend to look chunky, warped, and not factory or part of the truck...
Optimum No Rinse (all exterior including rims)
Optimum Spray wax 2-3x per year
Mother’s Clay Bar 2x per year
Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel
Optimum Ferrex (every couple years)
Nothing else touches the outside of my car unless I need to use a self-wash bay and use the rinse only to get extra grit...
Optimum No Rinse in my garage year round. I occasionally go to the self-wash bays and use rinse-only if the truck is really filthy and covered in grime… and then go home and use Optimum No Rinse. Amazing product that I’ve been using for nearly 10 years.
This front end eats up road debris. I have Space White so the chips stick out like a sore thumb. After 4,000km I find the front is getting beat up too fast for my liking.
What’s everyone using to mitigate damage? Wax obviously ain’t going to cut it.
Optimum Opti Bond Tire Gel. Only need to put it on a few times a year. A damp wipe shines the tires up after rain. It doesn’t attract dirt and debris either.
Yup- still love the system. Sat in the truck last night to finally get my garage door opener. Played a lil Billy Currington - People are Crazy via CarPlay. This system is incredible!
Also, to really verify if your headrest speakers are on, I realized if you actually press (not just turn) your...
Ended up ordering 20” Blizzak DM-V2’s this morning. There seems to be supply issues and not much choice out there so I jumped on them when they came back in stock at Costco (they constantly go in and out of stock). Can’t even order them through my dealer. I’ll probably just rock the factory 20”...
Mountains and snow? Snow tires would be my vote. A bit more money but being in a ditch or stuck somewhere isn’t fun either and it will stretch out the life of your “summers” so it all equals out. To each their own though ?.
People complaining might just need to adjust their settings. Turn on CarPlay and through Apple Music play either Sofi Needs a Ladder by Deadmau5 or Beautiful Mistakes by Maroon 5 and crank it. The sound is incredible.
If your volume is up and you press your ear into the head rest, you can...
I feel like I’ve seen some random paint issues including a random little indentation. Hard to tell, these trucks are mass produced and are so big that they’re bound to get blemishes on them. I’m glad I got Space White so none of it is easy to spot :)
Happy with my system. Kinda hard to tell if the sound is coming out of the headrest speakers but I think that’s the point of how the sounds and acoustics are set up in the truck. I was actually worried the headrest speakers would be blaring in my ear so I am quite happy that’s not the case at...
Will 17” tires work on a Lariat? The stock configuration is 20” on mine (275/55R20) but I know 275/65R18 is another stock size on the Lariats. Not a lot of supply out there and I can pick up 17” barely used Michelin X-Ice already mounted on steel it’s for winter. So, the million dollar question...
I noticed the same but I also thought that if it was matched, the lip on the mat would have to be lower and possibly result in spill over… which is an issue for me living in Nova Scotia and lots of salt/slush/ice from Jan-March.
