It may well be that they cancel all the reservations, I certainly don't know all the factors in play. But to spend the money they do on advertising, and then turn away potentially 10s of thousands of buyers seems like an odd move.
They're going to make more XLTs. Why not let me wait my...
Yup, my mistake was misreading the following:
Ford will go in reservation list order to invite the next available reservation holders at each dealership.
I didn't notice "at each dealership".
I thought I saw that they were changing their system and would go by reservation date moving forward (don’t remember WHERE I saw that, maybe just a fever dream).
So if you want an XLT I think you just keep checking and hope you’re lucky enough to catch it when it’s available again?
If I’m understanding the new system correctly, they’re issuing invites in reservation order now, once you’re in a wave you’re also in every subsequent wave, and you have...
Got 22 panels in 2019 which covers >100% of use. 30% federal rebate plus state rebate brought it from ~30k to ~12k.
We have a south-facing roof which gets sun all day, perfect for solar.
Our electric bill averaged around $93/month, which we replaced with ~$82/month loan payment. We don’t...
I don’t think hacking is the reason for the delay, I have no idea what the reason is, just presenting it as another possibility.
Having said that, there are more vulnerabilities possible than vehicle OS. Could be a new part susceptible, new firmware, the Dearborn plant itself, who knows!
Here's another (plausible) crackpot theory - they were hacked. Consider two possibilities:
Ford themselves were hacked. Someone found and exploited a vulnerability in some system. They may have hijacked something and are holding it for ransom, or they may have demonstrated the ability to...
Is there a way to ascertain how many a given dealer will get? I'm 10th on the list at my dealer, who only got 1 lightning for 2022MY. If there's no chance they'll get to 10 I might want to change dealerships myself...
Not for most people with solar. I have panels, and my panels do NOT power my house - they get fed into the grid and my bill gets reduced accordingly. I still get all my power from the grid, NOT my panels.
For instance, if my neighborhood loses power, in the middle of the day, my house loses...
It seems odd that they can do it against my will. Businesses put their logos on their business vehicles. If they want to advertise on MY car they'd have to pay me, or pay for the car.
I suppose from their view they're putting it on BEFORE I take ownership, and then I agree to purchase as-is...
Called my dealer today and got the last available (10th) priority slot as well.
I’m a new customer, so not sure why, but I’ve spoken with them a few times over the last few weeks and have always been polite and understanding. Maybe that did it? Anyway, all of a sudden a 2022 truck is a...
Not sure where to ask this, but it’s cosmetic related so:
Some dealers add their “nameplate” to the exterior of vehicles, usually on the back. Have any of you ever requested that NOT to be added, and is that just fine or should I expect pushback?
Ford has sent 2 emails in the past couple weeks, that are basically just advertisements for the truck I already have a reservation for. It’s annoying because I always think “is this the one” only to be disappointed.
Dear Ford, please stop selling me the truck if you can’t actually sell me...
Thanks, that's valuable advice. Mind some follow up?
1) I read this as: if my garage is hot then put a fan or somehow help cool the batteries, and if garage is cold, put some heat on them (ideally). Is that what you mean?
2) I'm guessing I'll be able to set it up to only charge to 80% at...
