Not sure where to ask this, but it’s cosmetic related so:

Some dealers add their “nameplate” to the exterior of vehicles, usually on the back. Have any of you ever requested that NOT to be added, and is that just fine or should I expect pushback?

You can request it. Some dealers will honor that.

They're not hard to remove though. Just some heat in most cases.

Every time I've asked them to not put sales ad on my vehicle they still do it anyway. I've had to remove every one for the last 45 years.

It seems odd that they can do it against my will. Businesses put their logos on their business vehicles. If they want to advertise on MY car they'd have to pay me, or pay for the car.

I suppose from their view they're putting it on BEFORE I take ownership, and then I agree to purchase as-is? Hmm...

I just think they should pay me like they pay for any other advertisement if they want to advertise on my vehicle!

I requested my dealer not put anything on my Mach e, and they honored my request.

I think it helped when I explained I was driving straight from the dealer to the detail shop to have XPEL applied.

It would cost me more money in prep work if the detail shop had to remove all the stickers and crap just placed by the dealer.

Some of those decals are pretty hard to remove.

Mine uses license plate frames. I usually keep them on until I get a permanent plate.

I do have to remind them not to put on the front license plate holder. But maybe now that Ohio doesn't require it, they won't automatically do it.
