My wife is the type of person to always bring her car back home on fumes. Getting her in a ev was a piece of cake as she already seemed to hate going to the gas station. Granted I am the one to plug her car in 95% of the time but she loves it and says she can’t go back. She’s done a few long...
Gas vehicles drive down mountains everyday. Most people are clueless and don't even know what engine braking is. Its very rarely an issue unless your overloaded and riding the accelerator and brakes the whole way down.
So no it shouldn't be an issue in 99.9% of scenarios.
The truck is smart enough to take care of itself. It will stop regenning somewhere between 95 and 100%. From there the truck will only use the friction brakes to slow you down.
It’s 60-70% of the kinetic energy contained in a mass traveling at a certain velocity. It’s typically expressed in joules but can be converted to watts. So 30-40% is lost to heat. Standard brakes convert 100% to heat. This is why it’s technically still more efficient to get up to speed and...
I totally understand. A common misconception though is that stronger regen equals more energy in the battery. That’s not necessarily true. Regen is about 80% efficient whether strong or weak. So long as you stay out of the friction brakes the end result will be about the same. So drive it how...
You’re putting way too much thought into this. I towed a boat up to a lake in the mountains with my standard range pro and made it easily (sea level to 7000 feet). Normal mode with one pedal is great (one pedal doesn’t force you to stop? You can just hit the accelerator a little to keep moving)...
Currently we have the lightning (me) and an LFP Model 3 (wife). We did briefly have a fiat 500e that we bought to dip our toes into EVs. I loved that little thing. Great to run around town in and park anywhere. The range was frankly terrible but even so it convinced my wife to sell the fiat...
I'm in Orange County California and I've lost count. Probably around 20. Some highlights include a lariat that is currently parked in the same parking lot as my pro. My parents neighbor has a lariat. My favorite though was a platinum with a rack system mounted on the back. I believe it had...
Thanks. It’s been raining for the last few weeks so that helps. Haha.
I normally just grab a circular mirror and throw it in the upper corner but I didn’t want to block the blind spot monitor light. So in the end I went with these long boys. Not my favorite but they work well enough.
Picked up my pro a few weeks ago and started installing the stock pile of parts I had accumulated.
I managed to fit the peragon tonneau cover from my old truck (17 Nissan Titan). Size was nearly identical. I built some custom brackets so I didn’t need to drill. Peragon sells a set for 70$ but...
