CSX handles the east coast.
Have you already documented here how vehicles go from MI to NJ via CSX/other? Is it possible to call the train company and give them a VIN to check shipping? As we all know the current Ford system is way behind so I would rather call shipping direct to see status. thanks!

I'm also a Michigan XLT delivery. I'm still waiting on the "Built" status. A chat agent told me that the truck is on a chip hold. Its weird to see later blends but same exact builds get the "built" checkmark. I'm holding out hope for a Christmas surprise.
I got the Built check mark on 12/12. Got the estimated delivery dates this morning. Hopefully you get yours soone!

My dealer is allowing me to sign up on the truck at any time now that the truck has "shipped". They warn that the truck still shows on chip hold and that there is no ETA. If I purchase truck now, the loan begins and my warranty begins but the title transfers to me and they truck will have been "delivered" from a paperwork standpoint. For me, the 7500 dollar credit is worth taking the risk that I lose a month of warranty and have to start making loan payments a month early.
This is a fellow forum members truck the damage happened a mile away from the dealership. I wouldn't sign a damn thing before I did a full walk around the truck for a tax credit....

Michigan deliveries are interesting because you will never get a shipping notification. One day you'll get a call from your dealer that the truck arrived. That seems to be how it works for everyone who has a convoy only delivery.
That’s probably because by the time they update the status it’s already at the dealership. If they offered an option to pick it up at the factory I could be there in 90 minutes or less!

I would 100% do that especially if they waived the $1795 fee. Do people that live super close pay the same $1795 delivery?

My understanding is that they spread the cost evenly so everyone pays the same (Mi residents subsidize CA folks).

That December 20th date is the estimated date of your railcar's final destination, or at least that's how I've understood it. I believe CN exchanges cars with UP in Chicago. 5 days from CHI to LA seems a bit fast so it is possible that date could be till when a transfer happens.

@indubitalist I believe you had done some research on the whole rail shipping process. What is your take on the end date given by UP from their automated trace line?
Though my experience is with CSX, I doubt there'd be substantial differences with UP -- delivery estimates are for when the rail car arrives in the destination yard. It could be a day or more before that car is released from the train to another part of the yard, where it can then be unloaded. Once it's unloaded the truck is either impounded or immediately rolled onto a carrier for final mile transport. In my case the process took almost exactly seven days, to the hour, and the over-road final mile delivery was only 30 miles.

I have a feeling our trucks are just going to show up and we will get emails after they are in the garage.

Haha, I appreciate the picture. Thankfully my dealership confirmed in writing that Ford is still responsible for any damage in shipping even if I've already purchased. They guaranteed that I would be receiving a spot free new vehicle. But even if they didn't, this isn't a $7500 repair. ;-)

I'm a little confused. My truck says shipped but doesn't have an ETA. The window sticker says CONVOY but when I checked with Ford on chat they told me "vehicle is currently in the transit phase to be transported via Railcar # TTGX604467 (Canadian National Railways ) It is currently located at Ramp 51, in Flat Rock, MI." Why is it shipping by rail if my window sticker says CONVOY!!! Ugh!
