The Lariat and Platinum come with the Sync4a screen whether you like it or not. I have not been in a Lightning with the 15" screen yet, but the lack of an armrest seems like it would make the 15" difficult to use. This is based on my experience with the Model 3 which has an arm rest just a little too far back and trying to steady your hand on the screen while driving to tap virtual "buttons" can be difficult. In videos taken during a ride along, the 12" screen has a ledge to help steady your hand. My understanding is that the AC controls on trims with the 15" screen are touch buttons like in the MME and can be difficult to adjust if your elbow isn't on something. Maybe this isn't really an issue?

We ordered a Lariat so will have the screen and fewer buttons. Having a Mach E with the large screen, I would appreciate the additional physical controls for HVAC, Audio and Seat heat and ventilation that come on the 12" screen. It's just not as convenient on the screen.

This thread was moved but it was kind of specific to the Lightning since that is the only model with the two screen options.

I have the 12" in my F150 and the 15" in my Mach-E. I hate the 15". The menus are hard to navigate and non-intuitive, and trying to work a touch screen while driving is right up there with texting on the distracting scale. I have to use the voice command just to change the temperature because using the sliders and buttons is too difficult while rolling down the road.

This is kind of what I had assumed. I like the idea of a tablet being a central control for a lot of features but I don't know why they include features that you need to access while driving as small little screen buttons...at least make them a 2 inch pop-up button. If this is the future for all autos someone needs to put some time into really thinking about this design.

Ok, done with my rant.
