You ordered a Ford one or after market? I've seen 2 different for ones. One for 15-20 and a more expensive one that says for 2021. Does the other fit?
The one I got from Amazon was aftermarket but looked exactly as the Ford version, fit perfectly, save a $100. Send Amazon vendor question about fit. I did and was told it would fit.

Here are some pictures of the Ford bed extender I took off my 2010 Platinum when I traded it in for my 2021 King Ranch PowerBoost. Maybe they will answer a few questions for you.

All the existing holes lined up just fine in the new truck.

It easily flipped from inside to outside. As I recall, I installed it upside down (swapped left for right) by accident. Fortuitously, this actually seemed to work better with the Bed Rug, since the rubber bumpers on the top and bottom are not the same length. It seemed to sit flat, both inside and out on the tailgate. Being upside down, the locking pin, operated by the yellow handle, pointed up instead of down, where it would drop into a hole in the tailgate. The 2021 truck tailgate did not have this hole, and I would have not drilled one anyway. The barrier seemed sturdy enough without it.

It was a little too long in the folded position with the 5.5 bed of my new F-150, and rested up a bit on the wheel well. My 2010 Platinum had a 6.5 bed, and it sat flat in that one. Here again, you can see the pin mechanism with the yellow handle, resting out of the way in the raised position.

The 240v dogbone I have required the bed extender to be flipped out of the way. It might work better with a flatter plug, if you could find one.

However, the 120v cords I have were smaller and more flexible, and could be used in all receptacle positions, regardless of the position of the bed extender.

In the end I decided dual SwingBoxes were more useful, so I installed those instead.

is that a factory-installed spray-in linear? If it is I am surprised they don't remove the cleats first

Yup - factory work. Maybe they thought the thickness of the bedliner might not allow the brackets to seat properly. Beats me.

And what happens if you feed the cables through the hole slots in the bed extender?

The 120v cords could easily slip underneath the bed extender, or through any of the slots, for that matter. For the 240v plug, there was no hole or slot where the plug was situated - the bed extender was solid plastic at that point - and the cord was too stiff to bend. I considered using a big hole saw to cut an opening through it, but that seemed like overkill, and I had lost interest by that time. I still think the best alternative would have been to find a shorter 240v plug, or maybe find or fabricate one that routes the cord 90 degrees. I'm sure it could be made to work.

Were the center, pivot holes threaded in yours? Mine are not threaded.

When I installed mine on my 2018 they came with self tapping bolts. I just got my 2021 and haven't looked at yet and my new extender has not come in yet.

buy a tap to match the bolt and tap it out, or you stand a chance of breaking off that galvanized bolt.

It is an ArmorFlex, by Undercover. I like it. There are other threads with lots pictures and opinions. I prefer it over the BakFlip because this one does not lean against the back window when braced fully open.
