Annoying Tailgate Issue

Whenever I open and then close the tailgate (by whatever means) and the truck happens to be locked, the horn honks very loudly and the tailgate opens again. Only after unlocking the vehicle can I close it. I try to remember to unlock the truck first every time now, but it is a minor hassle. Has/is anyone else experiencing this? And if so, is there a way to disable this rather strange and annoying phenomenon? I Any help/suggestions are much appreciated.

Weird...this does not happen with mine. I do have to push the button twice though when the doors are locked for it to open.
