Anybody else notice the slight "Click" when starting off either in forward or reverse?

I have the same sound on my lariat l, 1800 miles. I notice it anytime I am next to a wall (drive thru) or something that sound can bounce off of. This is good info. Thanks for sharing

Add me to the list of clickers! My XLT does this whenever accelerating or decelerating. To me it sounds almost like when you torque down a bolt extra hard, like metal slipping on metal under high pressure. I'm going to call my dealership, hopefully they have a loaner if they take it in as I need the truck for work.

Can add me to the list. Has had the tick since day 1 (1300 miles now). Can only hear it with the windows down/radio off, and hasn't changed or gotten worse at all. I'm thinking I'll wait to see if Ford puts out a TSB/Recall rather than just take it in and be without a truck for some period of time.

Seems common enough that it will be addressed, either with a fix, or to say it's just normal drivetrain noise.

Mine started a few days ago, I’ll be watching this thread closely for updates. A little over 3,000 miles on the truck now.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I have recently noticed this on my truck too. It tends to happen right as I accelerate and also right when I start to decelerate, almost exactly like the video at the beginning of this thread. I will make a note and keep an eye on it before I take it in to get looked at!

Has anyone had the tick fixed other than @MapleMan650. Ford reached out to me and then went silent after I had mentioned that someone on this forum had theirs fixed. I really want this noise gone.

Yep I had the tick. Lariat 1,000 miles, noticed it after the first couple 100.
brought it to dealer w/ screenshots of the two folks on this chain and they fixed them exactly the same way. Sound gone.

Dealer has had my truck for six days, I called again today and they said they found "loose bolts, probably from the factory" 😯. I hope that's not accurate, don't think it is somehow. It will be ready today so I'll be interested in seeing the work order...

So they ‘fixed’ the problem by ordering the exact same parts everyone else on this chain included. But a week later the sound is back on mine. Not as often (more like half to 40%, but still there.
Anyone else experience this or know what a possible fix could be? Thanks

Hmm, that's not encouraging. I'm on my way to pick up my truck now, it'll be interesting you see if they did the same as others on here.

+1 for the clicking.
I hear clicking while accelerating and decelerating around 50 mph
The sound is like when you turn the light switch on and off fast.
Mine is Lariat ER, around 1,000 miles.

The click is benign.. it happens when rust crystals form inside the splines. Lubing them is not a common thing ( other than to fix an annoying sound). What all of these, and countless other vehicles need is anti-seize compound during assembly.

30 Model A,
Following. My XLT with 3k miles does it too. I can hear/feel it with the windows up. Both my local dealerships have treated me badly in the past (I ended up ordering my lightning 1300 miles away) so really leary about bringing it to them.

Unfortunately for Ford, all these little nuances would be ignored on an ICE because of engine noise. Lightning's quiet ride is unable to mask these sounds.
