Anyone ever have wheels powder coated?

Have a Platty coming soon, but hate the polished wheels and chrome on front. Was thinking about having the wheels powder coated flat black. Anyone ever had this done?
Also, any way to get rid of the chrome trim? Can it be painted?

Check out www.ecoological.com they have covers for most of the chrome parts. I got a Lariat with the chrome package and planned on covering it. I haven't had a non blacked out vehicle since the early 90's. But now the I have had it for 2 days I'm really liking it. The only chrome I can't stand is the Mirrors, I will more than likely change that.

So powder coating wheels is a good option and durable for wheels? Any suggestions on the grill chrome on a Platinum?

Yea it lasts I did my moms 2011 Taurus sho wheels 10 years ago when it was new and besides slight fading due to being black and sun they haven't done the typical ford teel or chip and she drives them daily in snow and salt all year. As far as Grille you'd have to have it painted like I've been seeing all over YouTube

Black, probably matt and will want the chrome around the grill painted to match along with the Platinum badge on the tail gate.
