Twice now in the past two weeks, my “available power” gauge has gone from 95-100% immediately down to somewhere between 64-65%, and the “power distribution” graphic indicates that the front motor is neither receiving power, nor is any regen braking occurring. The rear motor appears to be operating normally. I have received zero error messages, and the truck FEELS pretty much as usual, though isn’t accelerating quite as quickly. I’ve seen this happen at ~85% SOC and today at 33% SOC. When it happened today, I pulled over when it was safe and powered down the truck, waited 30 seconds, and then restarted. The available power started at 95% and almost immediately dropped to 64%, and the graphic indicated that I was getting no power to the front motor, though regen braking in 1-pedal mode felt pretty normal. After parking the car again, this time for ~15min, I was back to 95% available power and the front motor, according to the Power Distribution graphic, was behaving normally. I drove home (about 6 miles, took 15 minutes), and everything was normal, as if the previous episode had never happened.
Anyone have any experience with something similar? It’s weird behavior, and concerning because I have never seen this before, and I have over 31,000 miles driven over 14 months of owning this truck. Is it possible this is a software glitch, and I am not really losing the front motor? I would hate to lose AWD in the snow…
