Tried using the fancy bed outlets for the first time. But when I turn them on (with nothing plugged in) I'm getting an error-- "The maximum capacity of the bed outlets was exceeded. Try unplugging one or more items and reset."

I've tried resetting and turning the truck on/off again. The manual is no help. Are there any fixes for this or do I need to go to the dealer?

Did you check the plugs under the bed for the outlet?

Stupid question, but what am I looking for? Should I just unconnect/reconnect them? Line-X may have removed and reseated the assembly when they sprayed the bedliner.

Yes those plugs. Open and reseat them to ensure they are making contact.

Opened and reseated them but no luck, still getting the max capacity issue.

Sounds to me like an overload situation possibly due to a short which would open a breaker (or blow a fuse) if it were in your house for example.

If you try to reset a house breaker or replace a fuse when there is a short, it will open again or blow the fuse again.

None of the wires at the plugs look like there was any melting so no damage done yet.

If it were an unconnected wire, I don't think it would give an overload message.

A short could be anywhere: in the outlets, along the wire/cable path, in the engine compartment.

I think it is a warranty job for Ford if you do not see any damage visible from say road debris that could have knocked a couple wires.

You mentioned LineX.
When they spray the liner, they remove the plug outlets and then reattach them.
I would check the outlets themselves to make sure they are shorted in some way.
But, hey, that's just me. Otherwise you may be looking at a visit to dealer (who want's that?)
