Maybe a week ago I noticed a minor burning smell from the rear of the truck. I had just gotten a new travel fridge and figured it was the compressor breaking in.
Fast forward to today…the fridge is unplugged and I noticed the same burning smell. I thought it was odd but figured..maybe it’s been hot and it’s the motors. Maybe I went over something and it’s burning off.
I dismissed it and went inside.
An hour later my wife tells me the garage smells like it’s burning. I go back outside and now the smell is significantly stronger. I did my best toucan Sam impression and smelled everywhere. It was definitely from the rear, tailgate, drivers rear wheel well, taillight area smelled the worst. There’s no smoke. No warning lights.
I ended up unplugging it from the 32A mobile charger and backing the truck out of the garage. I still need to charge it for a trip tomorrow so I plugged it into a different charger - 80A but unfortunately it’s the one that reaches as far away from the house as possible.
I’ve had some smells here and there from previous EVs but never this strong. Anyone else get a weird smell from theirs?
