Cannot get BlueCruise to work. What am I doing wrong?

Took delivery last evening. Activated my FordPass App this AM, paired with truck just fine etc. Lariat, so its got BlueCruise for sure.

FordPass says BlueCruise active till 10/18/2026 (not clear why it shorted me a few days, but whatever)

Turned on all the active features like lane assist etc.

Verified that roads I have tried are mapped for BlueCruise hands free.

When I drive, set cruise, enable lane assist, but hands free never kicks in. Driven for like 30 miles total in at various times.

Tried pulling fuse #32 per one thread suggestion. No change.

What am I missing?

Sounds like the trial is active according to Fordpass. In the truck, go to the About section in Settings and see what it says for Bluecruise map expiration date.

When I got my truck it took about 1 week for Handsfree bluecruise to start working. If I recall my expiration date on Bluecruise maps was set to a date in the past. It updated automatically at some point in that first week of ownership.

That's actually just the maps that are expired, not the feature. Try 10 key cycles to get it to pull in new maps data

You also need to have it connected to your FordPass account and ensure you have connected vehicle features turned on in the vehicle

Well, when I set up the FordPass app, it said it was going to have the vehicle ask for verification. And it did, and I of course accepted. Please don't tell me that in spite of me accepting the verification, I still need to somehow connect to FordPass account via a different means to get this to work?

So far not impressed. With the electronics at least. Rest of the truck seems pretty sound. Threw some lumber in the bed today with little concern for the paint. Its gonna get banged up anyhow. Lots of nice attachment points for tie downs. Tailgate is going to get destroyed I fear. But that happens a lot to a work truck. Suspect it will live with the lariat tailgate for a few years, then no tailgate at all. No feature to put a 2x6 across the bed to keep crap from exiting the bed once the tailgate is gone... Must be a F250 feature........

Also ensure you have the “Lane Keep” (with button on left side of steering wheel). If you just press the Bluecruise Button without lane keep already on you will just get adaptive cruise.

Today in "About" its showing hands free expiration of 10/3/2074. Yes!

Whatever. BlueCruise worked this morning! Then the rain started and I have learned BlueCruise doesn't like rain. Oh well. Can't say that I disagree!
