Has anyone had experience with a canopy on your truck? How has it impacted the range, if at all?

Please search "leer" and you will see 14 pages of hits regarding this issue. I have been watching for over a year, and I haven't remembered anyone having any significant change in range.

As a rule, the only thing that will improve range on the back of the truck is something that has about a 45° angle from the cab to the tailgate, which allows the air to redirect and recombine downwards....meeting the air from the bottom, sides, and back smoothly.

Unfortunately, those are ugly as hell. (Looking at you slobbertruck)

So an open bed, a tonneau cover, and a bed canopy all roughly have the same aerodynamic profile and efficiency.

No significant change in range with ARE topper ... our KO2 tires likely would cause a greater loss of M/kwh
