Did a round trip from Chicago to the outer tip of cape cod, with a Lariat ER. I was hesitant after the update that changed the GOM predictions. In the past I would use the Ford app to navigate the trip. This trip I solely used plug share to create possible fast charging stops along my trip that were off of the freeway. I basically planned on just under 200 mi. For distance between charges was able to take the dogs out get a snack and get going again. At most stations I was the only person arriving with one or two showing up after I arrived. I was able to take a side trip to Vermont on the way back and stay at an airbnb that had charging to get me to 100%. It was a fair amount of planning, but no more than I used to do on my motorcycle without a fuel gauge. My prior trip the week before to St. Louis in a pro was a failure using the ford app and navigation. It basically sent me on a crazy route to compensate for the extremely conservative recalibration of the mileage prediction.

It's a shame about the Ford Navigation software. The navigation part of it is really good - better than Google maps in terms of telling you about upcoming turns and which lane to be in.

But the current version fails miserably at routing to chargers. During a road trip I decided to give it a try... And it tried to route me to slow 50kw chargers BEHIND me. It actually wanted me to double back and use a slow charger when there were several fast chargers on my route. Ford really needs to fix this asap or discontinue their mapping software - the current implementation is going to lead to a lot of frustrated users.

I've used a combination of ABRP and Plugshare with good success.

I think we've all learned that you have to do your own homework, and using your experience, to know, and to feel comfortable 'planning' a trip where mileage/range is coming into play, especially if you are towing...
Our LIGHTNING Pro will be conservative on the range, especially when towing, because it would rather 'underestimate' the mileage I'll ultimately get... it's always good to see, while half way, that you are AHEAD of the estimations.
I know, from 26,000+ miles of experience, and with how driving and speed contribute to range, that while towing our camper I will expect to go north of 120 miles, maybe 140 or more, on our standard range battery pack, even if the guessometer or 'trip planner' says otherwise, or wants me to 'stop and charge' somewhere along the way - I'm only going 135 miles, so I'll certainly know better the closer to that range I am... slow down, conserve miles, drive slower, conserve miles, don't get in a hurry, get more miles.

The Ford App is useless.

Not sure where you stopped for a charge on the Cape, but my recent experience in driving from NJ to Chatham was that there is only one location for a Level 3 fast charge......Hyannis. If you are going up to Ptown you are advised to charge up before you make the drive.

I got a bump in Hyannis then charged where I was staying in truro using 120 for the rest of the week. The backup was to leave it at the town hall charging station for an overnight but got closer to 100% by the end of the week.
