Creaking steering wheel when turning

Does anybody else have this noise when turning your steering wheel? Dealer has replaced the clock spring twice and it fixes the noise for a few weeks but it gradually comes back louder and louder. I can’t imagine I’ve had 3 bad clock springs especially if others don’t experience the same thing. Just strange that it does resolve the noise temporarily.

I was listening to @FordVideoGuy stream tonight, Sarah covered a TSB/RECALL alert that is affecting the steering wheel clock spring on a variety of F series models 150/250 and potentially this may include Lightnings as well, maybe the replacement part(s) were defective ???

Interesting. I’ll look into that. I did post on Facebook groups in addition to this forum and haven’t heard anybody else with this issue so figured if there was a part issue, there would be more complaints from the field. Thanks for the info!

@Ford Motor Company Brought my truck in for the 4th time for the issue and issue is still not resolved. The BEV agent you assigned me to is now non-responsive. Dealer EV tech is incompetent. Please help!

Unfortunately not. I got the run around from @Ford Motor Company and honestly don't trust my local dealer to be able to resolve it. It's super annoying. Let me know if you are able to get this resolved so I can reference it.

Do you have an updated video after your latest repair? I know the video in your original post was after 2 repairs, but what did it sound like after the 3rd?

Did they replace the clock spring 3 times? Meaning you’re on your 4th one?

I have to wonder if that area needs to be lubricated or something…super weird for the problem to temporarily go away and come back.
