So, this will be my first truck and I am hoping to find a durable dog kennel for the bed of the truck that will fit my 100 lb., 8 month old Newfoundland puppy, who will likely end up around 150 lbs. We use a crate in the house that is about 48 inches x 31 inches x 36 inches, if memory serves me correctly and I cannot seem to find any durable crates that'll work in the truck bed that are anywhere near that size. Luckily, he will fit in the back seat of the truck when the 2 seats are folded up, but if I have a ciipmenofnoasswngers needing the backseat and the pup needs to join us for a ride, I would like an option for a kennel in the bed. Any thoughts?

The Rivian has a dog tube, even has a place for the dog to poke its head in the cab. Could get a tonneau cover, some straps to hold him in place and call it good.

My wife gets angry every time I mention it for our dog though. Not sure why :)

We have not purchased yet, but it looks like Impact Dog Crates might be the best solution. They have 48" model and also a version of it for tall giant breeds like Great Danes. They look to be super strong and durable and provide plenty of shade and ventilation and you can even buy a fan for inside it. The 20% off that they're doing right now is quite tempting.

So we have a 180 pound Newfoundland. He outgrew all known dog crates before he was a year old. So, I am following this thread with great interest. Like you, I have to put up the seats in the back in order to take the beast with us anywhere. And we go back and forth between two homes a lot and take him with us all the time so I can never put additional people or items in the back seat. I hope someone tells us of a great solution!

Yup, that is the exact same scenario we are in. We live in Chicago and have a house in Wisconsin. Our dog joins us when we head out places a lot, but with him in the backseat, there is only one seat available. The 48-inch Impact brand dog crate looks like the best option for the truck bed from what I can tell. I have not yet purchased it; I am waiting for the next bit 20% off sale that they do. I cannot find any other options (including the Gunner above) that would potentially work other than the Impact. I think Impact is the only one with an option for us Newfie owners. My pup is 10 months old and about 115 pounds now with plenty more to grow, so I am reluctant to buy before he is closer to full grown.
