Does the Sync 4 system still limit how long the radio stays on? Our local drive-in uses FM radio and it always timed out several times during a movie.

60 min is the max for extended play through forscan. However the battery saver will trump that if the battery gets low.

another option is to have a pretty good bluetooth speaker and get an FM radio app on your phone. No worries about killing your battery.

This would not work as you local drive-in's FM transmitter would not be listed in any FM radio app.

sure it does. i use an app that can select individual frequencies and it selects the available sources.

I'm curious how this would work. There's no ability to receive FM stations directly thru the phone as it does not contain any FM hardware. So in order for this to work at your local drive in, someone would have to directly stream the temporary FM stations to the internet. Because these transmitters are historically weak (not really available far outside the drive in property) how would the app creator get the signal to stream?

Many phones have FM receivers.

Interesting…. NextRadio seems to be the thing but you have to have headphones or wired speakers apparently as it must use those as the antenna?

Another solution would be a halfway nice portable radio (battery powered) with a headphone out you could plug in a bluetooth adapter too.

Ideally though a longer timeout would be the best option. I wonder if it is something that could be done with forscan?
