So now Ford decides to communicate by email. Currently no change to my 05/30 build week in the tracker.

I find it interesting Ford sends a possible delay email (2 1/2 months before the scheduled build date) when they never bothered to send a "You're scheduled for production" email. I had to "discover" my production date by refreshing the view from my Ford account.

So this twitter thread reveals that there’s certainly going to be another round of dealer prioritizations. She had a chance to say no, and didn’t. Business as usual, Ford still doesn’t get it.

I got an email yesterday from Ford. It gave me a vin number and move my production date UP 1 week to late march. Weird, with all the delay notices but I'll take it...

I got the same email dated yesterday Friday the 18th....a very non-specific "we're experiencing delays" sort of thing without providing any details as to if it was something on my build or whatever...

So I dropped by my dealer today and showed him the email....and then he pulled out his phone, while telling me that if Ford sends a customer an email he also gets a copy....

And low and behold he had 20 of the same emails all addressing a customer who had an order with him for F-150, F-250, Mavericks, Explorers, etc.... and they all said the exact same thing....so it's not just a Lightning thing. It was a shotgun blast to all customers with orders.

My salesman said my scheduled production date as of today is still showing the week of 5/2, as is the scheduling of their mannequin (same build exactly as my Atlas Blue 511A).

In other news the dealerships are being told that vehicles that are built, but technically unfinished because they're missing some module or parts, are going to be shipped to the dealers where they will be parked awaiting whatever is missing, and final installation. Customers will not be able to take delivery until the vehicle is finished at the dealership. So instead of the dreaded "lot 59" your next vehicle might be sitting at your local dealership until..... maybe your salesman can set up visitation hours so you can at least come by and have a look every now and again...

Correction late April not late march. My old retired firefighter brain doesn't work anymore. To much smoke I guess

That got my attention too. Another round of dealer prioritizations could potentially keep pushing day 1 reservation holders to the back of the line.

It's mind boggling. Why would Ford do that? It was weird enough they allowed it for the 2022s, but it really surprises me they might keep allowing it going forward.

I can't decide between the Lightning or Rivian. It's a tough decision.

At this point I'm starting to think Ford and Rivian are trying to compete with each other to see who can piss off customers the most.

Rivian: We are raising the price of your vehicle by 15k.

Ford: Hold my beer... We are going to put customers in reservation purgatory by allowing dealers to let VIPs cut in line... Over and over again.

On top of that, the leaked dealer ordering playbook clearly stated that unfilled MY 22 reservations were going to be invited to order for MY 23 this summer “in reservation time stamp order “. Implying that there wasn’t going to be another round of prioritizations. Looks like Ford is now backtracking on that. She had every opportunity to reiterate this written policy when answering a direct question about it, but chose to give a vague non-answer. Either changing the policy but afraid to say it out loud, or uninformed.
